i tried to play renegade under ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 but i can't get i to work, a few months ago i tried it on opensuse 11.0 too but couldn't get it to work on that system either.
when i try to install it with the cd it stops the installation ( i use the first decade) i am able to install red alert with it so the cd isn't the problem.
i copied the files from my windows pc to my ubuntu pc but now i get an serial key error.
i tried to open with wine and wine-doors but i get the same error.

it also ruins my screen resolution so mutch that i can only see a few icons on the desktop and the Applications and Places.

that is a picture form the map with the renegade files and how my resolution should be.
does anybody know how i can get it to work
i was able to install guild wars, warrock and unreal tournament.
but why can't i install renegade
