Hey guys someone I know came up with a really good idea!!!
The other XWIS games (Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, etc) have easy-to-use, easy-to-understand anti-cheat policies. In other words, a forum where you can report a cheater, an admin will give a verdict, and dish out temporary XWIS suspensions based on that verdict. Renegade doesn't, and since Renegade cheating is more rampant than in any of those other games, it seems illogical not to have this. So he suggested implementing this, offering his own services as the said 'admin'. Because, plainly, Crimson herself isn't qualified to deal with cheaters in a fair manner, and considering how long some of her responsibilities have been completely neglected (the Renegade auto clan ladder, Renguard 1.04, etc) it's clear she doesn't have the time either.
He, on the other hand, would handle that in much the same way as cheaters in this league are currently handled. A player can post evidence - if it's conclusive, the cheater would receive a temporary ban from XWIS, and the possibility of a permanent ban for repeat offenders. If the evidence was inconclusive, there would be no penalty.
I think this is a really good idea!! The reason for that is because BHS and Crimson's renguard sucks and doesn't stop cheaters, but banning cheaters from XWIS would on its own stop cheaters from even entering servers that don't run renguard (on xwis), and that ban could then generate IPs/cd keys that servers could all ban.
What do you guys think?!
