Important, in order for ASE to work properly with RenGuard, you must do the following.

Open Up ASE
Goto Filter->Configure Games
Expand Installed Games (click on + button)
Change renegade.exe to game.exe in the Program Location Text Box.
Click OK.

Now, the game should launch properly from there.
*NOTE: This is not an issue with ASE sending the incorrect values to the renegade.exe, but renegade.exe passing the incorrect values to game.exe. If you continue to experience any issues with ASE, the client side application for RenGuard may be at fault. The command line has been tested, and verified with ASE v2.3.1 (unregistered version).
*NOTE: this is not official support, just me tossing my knowledge of how ASE works.

it's amazing how many people have that simple problem...i see a lot of it, usually have to tell people on the server to make that change.
