this is my very first map and is just me trying to get a bit of experience, tell me what you think and bear in mind that its my very first map so don`t expect it to be ack style!!! Wink

Its a simple DM map with a quite a few power ups....

thnx for the advice, i need to learn you to set up buildings and how to use height field then i`ll be working to wards making a first fully operational map.
(BTW is my sig too large?)

Make it size 10 or something.

Anyway, heightfield is pretty easy.

I'll explain.

1. On the presets menu, find the bar "heightfield", click it.

2. Click on "new terrain" or whatever.

3. Make it about 200-250 x 200-250

4. Get the thing out of camera view and into heightfield mode. ( The button with the mountain. )

5. You can now edit the terrain.

Only possible reason is if you need a quick map to test something out on, do not use it, hightfeild maps look like shit, I haven't seen one that looks even decent.

yea i know, thats why im asking how to edit a map with heightfield not make one with it...
btw iv taken your advice and not made this a real map but just a little bit of experience gathering...

You just say that because you can't make a decent heightfield map. There a good start-off for beginners.

you can make a decent map with it...but don't ,....its a waste of your time.

make a plane in ren-x and use mesh smooth modfier instead...same thing better control.
