WolfServers started off in the early days on Renegade, and was a passworded server for the Renegade Forum community. They closed it down because of the amount of bandwidth Renegade uses.
From then on they went to other games, and I left. Went to hell I'd say too, especially since the admins developed 'God' syndrome.
