For some reason, both browsers I use (Opera in general, IE for sites with compatibility issues) suddenly and without warning changed their settings for LAN to connect through a proxy. This made internet access impossible for an hour or so until I finally figured it out and turned the setting off.
Anyone know why this would happen? Malware maybe?

This might be unrelated, maybe not, but shortly before this happened, Java initialized without warning, then a .jar file (one whose name I can't recall was flagged by my antivirus and quarantined.
I did a full scan yesterday with no results, but I'm running it again with an update, just in case.

Nothing came up and nothing else screwy has happened since then, but I'll keep my eyes open. Hopefully it's not trying anything else shady in the background.
