I just finished every MGS except portable ops (hate the psp and all handhelds in general)
I enjoyed all of them, and I even played them in the other they happened:
MGS3 -> MG -> MG2 Solid Snake -> MGS1 -> MGS2 -> MGS4

It felt weird going from MGS3 to MGS1, but I got used to it eventually.

I really wish MG and MG2 were remade in the MGS4 engine. Those games were great, and the only way to play them these days is to get MGS3 Subsistence. Not even the essential collection includes them.

So discuss your likes and dislikes about the series.

One thing that I find weird is that Raiden was able to survive so much punishment in MGS4, yet Grey Fox in MGS1 was not. I guess he was an older ninja model or something.

MSG4 was disappointing and didnt really live up to the rest of the series Sad

I've played MGS1 and 2. Let me tell you, MGS2 was at best a mediocre game as far as fun goes... Then I played it through on insane mode where any alert is a mission failed. 100x more fun. It really wasn't "harder" either it just made you think more and play the game as it was intended to be played. I recommend it to all. Playing on the hardest mode that is.
