Scripts 2.9.2 or 3.4.4?[ 28 votes ]
1. Scripts 2.9.2 4 / 14%
2. Scripts 3.4.4 24 / 86%

I'm going to update the Renegade UberMappack this week so it
includes the new maps that were released recently, some are not in
the mappack yet.

See the contents of the current ubermappack here

Does anyone know if there are any new maps are missing here?
If so could you reply in this topic what map and possibly a downloadlink to it?

Also a little heads up for server owners:
Why don't you guys add in a few good new maps in your rotation?
There have been over 18000 downloads for the ubermappack and yet
rarely anyone plays them.
Sure some maps are not the best but there are some good ones in
there like for example Bio, Conquest Winter and Forgotten Town to name a few i like best personally.
It would be nice to see some of them in rotation on more servers,
most notably the Jelly Servers, along with the official renegade maps.

Yes i know: A lot of players drop out of the game when a new map
loads they don't have. They'll download it, they'll have to, if
there are more servers running these maps in their rotation.

Anyway thanks for reading and hopefully you guys have some stuff
to share along with the community.

Should the Ubermappack contain the Scripts Update 2.9.2 or 3.4.4?

(note: when scripts 4.0 is released i will update the mappack
with that update instead, unless you all vote for 2.9.2)

As to no custom maps:

New people don't know where to get them from and there's no automatic content downloader - yet. Very Happy

Waiting for TT to do this, tbh. We used to have Snow and BunkersTS in the rotation, which both are core pacth maps, and even then all non regulars got kicked when it loaded and the server emptied.

Thanks for the update, will you take out the skins and sounds that are currently in it? Many don't like those.

Not so true, I used to think the same, but not anymore.

Spam the server about the new maps as much as you can, when they start getting messages "You do not have the map" the fucking idiots will go look for them and most likely make retarded messages here about them.

Also, crimson could update the xwis login modt to give links to map downloads that many communites host.

To be honest with over 200 maps now, it's pretty retarded that 95% of the servers in the browser only run the default maps... that is made of gay.

These maps i found are not in the current ubermappack:

C&C_City&Flying2
C&C_Epocilation
C&C_Sniper_Training
C&C_Tomb.exe

Actually tbh a better idea would be to add 3 options to the install exe: "Include Scripts 2.9.2(note: only for older computers)" "Include Scripts 3.4.4" and "Include Skins", in my opinion.

One thing you're forgetting here.
You're saying that there are 200+ maps, whether or not this is true idk, but most maps are FUCKING HUGE AND NEED AT LEAST 24 players to be remotely fun. As you should have noticed, there are already playercount issues, so 24 players all the time WILL JUST NOT WORK.

Not all the fan made maps are that big.

I have played enough of them to know that 24 players is enough for a enjoyable game.

From a technical standpoint, if you include scripts 2.9.2 and install it for the players, you are going to make ALOT of people very unhappy. 3.0 and above include a "d3d8.dll", which is a small d3d8 init wrapper. It isn't a full implementation of Direct3D8, just enough to bootstrap loading so shaders.dll can kick in. If you replace the scripts.dll and bhs.dll, shaders.dll won't kick in and players will be stuck with a completely black screen.

The current map pack now has scripts 2.9.2 now and no one has ever complained about that.

I found this list:

http://www.sabaschlasch.de/home7/renegade.php?s=maps

and there are some maps in that list that aren't in the current mappack, maybe you could add those too.
