Problem with always.dbs [message #345434]

Recruit

I recently installed renegade and following the steps that this post said >>> http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&th=24533&start=0&rid=2 4127. I just got done running the file Patcher.exe and it says.

"If you are experience problems with renegade (e.g. renegade won't start, always.dbs missing, wrong language), make a note of what this program says and report it to Blackhand Studios.
Language ID = 0
English Detected
Removing old always.dbs
error 2

Now I just started up renegade and I have no video when it loads I only have sound. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks.

http://ren.game-maps.net/index.php?action=file&id=416 <- the original file, try dl'ing it and replacing the old one, then run patcher again.

Thanks bud you have all the fixes for my questions lol. I still have no video but the patcher.exe completed so that was cool. I guess I will reinstall for the 3rd time ) : I have no other idea how to fix my video. I do not understand why just earlier my video was working great on renegade but now that I have all of the patches working great now my video is completely black lol. Thanks again. Ill repost if I get any other problems.

Video as in the startup videos or as in any display whatsoever. If it's got no display whatsoever, you need to reinstall scripts.dll. Here's a link to an installer: http://4camp.net/scripts344.exe

ok downloading that fixed my no video problem, now I start it up and it goes to the main menu and I have no words on the buttons of the main menu on renegade.
