Alright well, i have not played renegade in probably years... and i have a quick question... i remember there was something i had to do to get online.

I downloaded renguard but no client pops up like it used to, but the game2.exe did showup in my files, so i even tried opening with that... but pre- and post- renguard use, i couldnt create an online nickname for the game... it just keeps saying page wasnt loaded...

How do i create an online account?

just pick a name, and password (type them in) and you should be good to go. i cant say for sure cause I'm having other problem but i believe this is correct. the problem is, your serial number can only hold i think 9 usernames, so you might have to delete other accounts or something to play

Yes. You need a name up to 9 characters and a password of exactly 8 characters, then log in (not create account). If it's not already taken, the name is yours and you'll see a list of servers.
