WOLSPY Help please [message #318511]

Recruit

Hey guys i got 1 more question.
im gonna run a server but it only logs in on WOL
i didnt realy like it that only players of WOL could join so i downloaded WOLSPY and installed it.
but it still keeps logging in on WOL and not on Gamespy -_-
What did i do wrong ?
can someone explain what i need to do ?

Is your server running at your home? Cause you cannot see servers with your own ip in the gamespy list.

Or maybe they just prefer to join the servers they have been playing on for years? Most people have favourite servers, so new servers generally don't get more than 2 or 3 players a month unless they have something really great to offer, or have managed to grab one of those gay a0000000000000000000000000000 nicknames on XWIS

In your Server dir, there is a folder which call ressurection.
And in this there is a server-EXAMPLE.cfg rename it to server.cfg and the server should be connect into GSA.

uhm, did the server connect to GSA if u don't run WOLSpy?
In the server.ini did u fill in the GSA port and Queryport?

your behind a router? maybe you have to forward ports otherwise you cant connect to GSA. take a look on your settings (ports) most server use 4848 and 23500. maybe that will help

Looking at that screenshot the only reason preventing the GameSpy query server from starting is, that resurrection/server.cfg cannot be found.
If that file really exists and is readable (permissions set?), try to start the server once without LUA plugin. If it then works, I'll look for a way to improve compatibility between RR and LUA plugin.
If that does not help we'll have to debug the server a bit.

I found out what i did wrong
the server-EXAMPLE was already a CFG file.
i renamed it to server.cfg so the computer saw it like this :
server.cfg.cfg Big Grin

But it is still connects to WOL only -_-

Any router or firewall? Then route/allow port 25300 to your PC.

Start the server and add it manually to GameSpy (IP:25300). If it is shown, all is fine. Sometimes it takes a while for servers to appear in GameSpy/ASE, because their master servers' performance is a bit unstable.

I dont know how is it possible but I can see on GameSpy my own server from same network... But only sometimes. (It was in ASE and my bot is modded for both scanners).

Doesn't ASE read it from the same place gsa does? I ask this because I use the broadcast to gamespy option in BR, and my server was once on ASE, but I didn't do anything to put it there. Checked later that day it wasn't showing up on ASE, only on gamespy Tell Me

GameSpy and ASE have different master servers, but I don't know whether these servers are linked.
