issues with renegade starting [message #269497]

Recruit

Alright, I receive a message saying the following every time I try to start renegade:

Renguard 1.0323

Error Code: 00000005

(see the "renguard error message" attached to this posting)

When I tried updating the core to fix it, I received this message:

(see the "screenshot of renegade problem" attached)

I can start renegade if I run game2.exe, but it runs without renguard. Curiously enough, I also managed to start renegade with renguard by running RenGuardPatcherv1.2.exe instead.

Any thoughts? Questions?

Yes, I am running Windows Vista. If you want my hardware specs, I'll give them to, but they shouldn't be affecting this. It seems to be a software issue. Just wondering if anyone else had run into similar problems and had isolated the cause or had found another solution

Right-click the Renegade and find the run as administrator option. Thumbs Up
