I see two faces to Hezbollah. The first face is the one they show the Lebanese people: A legitament political group all for bettering Lebanon. Then the second face is the one they show the world: A mostly unorganized group of terrorists where they don't know what they are doing until they are in deep shit. Nasrallah admitted that kidnapping those soldiers was a bad idea and all it did was cause Lebanon financial and structural damage. I wish all of those countries would stop doing idiotic stuff over there, really, think things out for a bit before you strap a bomb to yourself or pick up your AK-47.

Yea, it's a little bit sick that these people(esp. males)see having a weapon(AK-47) is required to get respect.

Heh, if civilized countries like America aren't willing to give up their guns, how can you expect another country to?

I have plenty of guns, and most people don't even know that I have them.. They aren't for respect, they aren't for show, they aren't required to defend myself at any given time against the agressors that I know are coming..

I shoot cans with them.. sometimes other inate objects..

You honestly don't see a difference Warranto? US citizens don't carry around automatic weapons like AK47's do defend themselves against whatever may come at them on any given day..

I used to have a couple of hand grenades with my ak47. Some people have old rpgs and other soviet era weapons.

Some people have m16s to but imo the ak47>m16. I think the m16s are unreliable and jam way too much.

Warranto, I own a myriad of guns legally. I have a few for home defense but most are for recreation such as going to the shooting range or show. Stop acting like we are the same as Middle East Countries where they think weapons imply respect.

Yea well you would think differently too if you were taught all of the hatred when you were little. Epecially if you witness it with your own eyes. I say that if you want to stop all of the hatred in the Middle East you will have to start with the children, just look what the American army is doing in Iraq!

Seriously people how can you fight a war on terrorism with all of your borders wide open!

OOOO Just wait. Civil War, Freedom, Liberty, Just Wait. I woulden't really mind if I everybody in America were carrying around weapons, concealed or not. That makes you think twice before you do anything stupid. What kind of guns do you have?

Oh, I do know that there is a difference between "recreational weapons" and assault rifles. The question was more rhetorical than a serious accusation.

There are people who see that America loves their guns (note "guns" and not <insert specific type of firearm>), and will fight anything and everything to ensure that they are allowed to keep them. After all, it's even been written in as law that ownership is encouraged.

This is what I was basing the rhetoric on. Nothing where there was any truth to it, just an exaggerated statement using a stereotype to move it forward.

Oh, I am all for them having their guns but they need laws like we do to keep them under control. Normally I hate the idea of Gun control but this is a different situation.

It's nice to see Hezbollah helping to (re)build the infrastructure of Lebanon. I must voice my concern, however, of where the money is coming from (Syria? Iran?) as well as how much of that rebuilding is being done to gain sympathy for when it comes time to disarm. Why would Hezbollah want to disarm if they have the support of the locals (which, they already do...)?

Proud for martyrs? In my opinion, most martyrs aren't paying a price for freedom. Instead, they're paying a price for publicity.

AFAIK, there are limits to what kinds of guns civilians can own. I do not (for example) believe that you can actually legally own a morter, any missiles, or any other such weapons that are plainly designed for offense rather than defense. Also, none of our militias go across borders and abduct other countries' citizens.

As Kanezor said, we can not acquire without tremendous scrutiny and highly expensive permits weapons that fire high explosive rounds or are fully automatic. Grenades are a big no-no and FMHalo is an idiot for just owning one since they are dangerous and highly volitile.

Please. Instead of being controlled by the wealthiest, it's controlled by the most violent.

Yes, because people are certainly not corrupt, greedy, and just plain ignorant. Sorry, but I don't trust a government that goes, "LOL, SURE" to doing whatever you want. In your government, sure, "legally" you're allowed to speak your mind, but that's not going to stop someone from cracking your skull. In America, we're protected from overly-emotional retards who can't agree to disagree.
