Buffer overrun error [message #204371]

Recruit

When I try to enter a game RenGuard comes up and says that it has detected a buffer overrun error which will shut down the game. I just installed RenGuard and don't know what I can/should do. I am running Windows 2000. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RenGuard currently doesn't support Windows 2000. You'll either have to wait for the new version of RenGuard, or change operating systems.

Viva la Resistance!

Is that official or what? I run win2k sp4 with all my security updates, NIS, etc. and I can get it to work 100% ........ it just takes like 30 clicks of the "OK" button on that error and trying again before it will actually join a game.

So RenGuard DEFINITELY works with win2k -- it's just a matter of tracking down this overflow. Convincing an admin to throw you on the exceptions list is about impossible these days even if they're your friend. I've never cheated in my life and I do everything in my power to fight the cheaters ... but I might have to give up Ren if there isn't some kind of fix or workaround. Sad
