I have uploaded a number of files that (along with the information in this post) should help solve some of the problems.

Firstly, anyone running CP2 RC1 (including people who download it after this post is made) should download
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/game2.zip
Basicly, as part of the memory checks we are going to add to RenGuard in the future, we are enforcing one specific game2.exe file (to limit the number of different memory checksums we have to approve). In client Core Patch 2 RC1, we were shipping a 3rd party no-cd crack. With the release of The First Decade, we will be shipping (for download here to people with CP2 RC1 and in CP2 final itself) the same exe file included with The First Decade. I have analysed the file and found that it is 99% identical to the no-cd crack being shipped with CP2 RC1, the only differences are to do with messages added by the copy protection removal program used when the 3rd party no-cd crack was made. Also, if you dont download this, you may have problems with Core Patch 3 (if/when that is developed)

Secondly, there is a new downloader at http://download.renguard.com/cp2/download.exe
This downloader has a larger window (should prevent scrollbars from appearing for people using windows XP themeing) and has the Core Patch 1 messasges changed to Core Patch. Also, it will refuse to run unless it is in the same folder as game.exe (this should prevent problems with people putting it in the wrong place)

If you have Core Patch 1 installed but the downloader is downloading patchall.zip, open regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RenGuard and look for a PatchVersion key. If no such key exists, create it and set it to 1. If it exists and is set to 0, change it to 1.

If you dont have Core Patch 1 installed, the PatchVersion key should be set to 0 if it exists.

Also, if the previous items do not allow CP2 to install properly, I have uploaded a set of files:
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/always2.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_canyon.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_city.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_city_flyin g.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_complex.zi p
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_field.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_fieldts.zi p
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_hourglass. zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_islands.zi p
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_mesa.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_snow.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_under.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_volcano.zi p
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_walls.zip
http://download.renguard.com/cp2/mixfiles/c&c_walls_flyi ng.zip

These files will work regardless of whether you have CP1 installed or not. Download it and unzip it to the renegade data folder and it should make the "old file not found" errors go away. Only download these files if you are getting "old file not found" errors and you have tried the other solutions mentioned in this post.

Assuming no further bugs show up, the following will happen:
The readme file will be re-done and updated.
The files linked above will be the ones you are pointed at if the precheck fails
Then, new versions of SSCP2 (windows and linux) and client CP2 will be uploaded. RenGuard will then be made to point to client CP2. SSCP2 for windows will contain an improved installer.

The missing writing is what we intended to have.

Ok i have writing on the load screen though it is the writing from core patch one, which does really fit in with the screen.

If you still have writing, CP2 didnt install properly.

Are you putting game2.exe in the renegade folder where mss32.dll is?
