Ok heres my issue, every time I play renegade I play for about a few hours than I leave and right when I hit quit renguard like freezes renegade which in return freezes my computer to renegade screen. Than I get the error report after I finnaly get it unfroze after about 5 minutes of messing with it. Any idea how to fix it. Also if it may be this, I have edited renegade so you dont need to have any confirmation messages, which is done through regedit of course, could that be the problem??

How do you know it's RenGuard that is freezing Renegade?

When you want to quit Renegade, just minimize the game, right click the RenGuard icon in the taskbar, and click exit. It will close both RenGuard and Renegade without a hitch.

Even better: Press F8 and type exit. Or just e, and hit enter.

There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.

How do you know it's RenGuard that is freezing Renegade?

I know its renguard because it only does it when I have renguard,I, not being much of a renguard fan, have only downloaded the program because my favorite servers require it or have me forcerg cause of the morons abuseing the command every time they get killed. And most of the time I do go outta renegade and click exit on the icon but that is really just defeating the purpose....

It's NOT RenGuard, we believe it's probably related to scripts.dll or the core patch, and possibly related to Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. Either way, we have not been able to figure out how to fix the problem. But I experience the problem 95% of the time I close Renegade and it doesn't matter if I've loaded it through RenGuard or not.

I'm the bawss.

i believe its something to do with the renegade program itself, I get it on WinXP and Win98 with and without custom scripts.dll and/or renguard.

If your running WinXP in the mode where you press alt-ctrl-del to get a menu instead of task manager ( I think you turn FUS and Welcome Screen off to get this, can't remember off the top of my head ) the atl-ctrl-del will force Ren to minmize and allow you to open task manager and end process it. Otherwise your usually stuck with simply turning your comp off....

All I do is press esc 3 or 4 times and it quits. I knew it wasn't locked up because I could see my cursor in windows moving, while the Renegade cursor didn't move.
