you need to search for directx 9c and the latest driver for your graphics card.

Hmm... Could this quite possibly be my problem as well?

When ever I've clicked on Edit->Level Settings to enable flying vehicles, the LevelEdit program crashes on me. It then asks if it wants me to send the error.

yeah, i fixed this on mine

LE is buggy on XP, you have to set the following compatability settings in the shortcut properties;

http://taren.westwoodcore.net/images/randomstuff/lesettings.jpg

should work with those settings Wink

well tht fixed crashes when opening level settings...the file d3d8.dll looks like directx, try clicking run, type in dxdiag and see if it shows any problems

EDIT: just checked and d3d8.dll IS a directx file, try updating to the latest direct X (9.0c) via windows update (which is what other people have said...)

midget you figure this out yet?

Im having this same problem with the latest drivers and the with 9.0c

Mine use to work, but something went wrong about 4 months ago with the level settings

EDIT....problem solved for me....just check "disable visual themes" in it's compatability propertys

you can still run it under windows XP and leave the advanced text services unchecked.
