Confused Thanks to Redguard anti cheat thing I cant play my renegade.
I'm probably just stupid but...

I load up my PC, modify the patch (or uninstall or install it) when I click on Renegade it says
'You're computer needs to be restarted to continue the patch'???
Anyway then I have to restart it and I'm brought back to the modifying screen after starting the machine again.
HEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

nope, that would be the westwood 1.037 patch. here's what ya do. uninstall rougeguard (not redguard, rougeguard). download the 1.037 executable, ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/renegade/updates/Renegade_1037_English.exe and put it in C:\WESTWOOD\RENEGADE, THEN use it. this way, you shouldn't get a forever message about restarting.

The installation or uninstallation of RenGuard does not prompt you to restart your PC. The installation of RenGuard mainly just copies your game.exe to game2.exe and installs RG as game.exe.

Uninstall Renegade/Renguard,
Re-install Renegade
Patch it with 1.037 (linked above by flyingfox),
Install RG

future relases would best have a check builtinot renguard that checks the version of renegade, if its not update, an auto update would be good.
