Ok ACK we'll all go back to the topic now . . . The interview was quit interesting, I was hoping you would say when .993 would be release, not just soon. Ohh well, I just checked the RenAlert website today, everything is done, but the installer needs to be made and tested. About how large of a file will .993 be?

Are you going to need like 500 Terabytes of bandwidth, since everyone will want to download this the second it comes out?
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

Can't you make that up in some 4 pieces with individual installers for 56k users? In Scotland (or maybe the whole UK) we're stuck with 2 hours per dial-ip, and I don't know of an ISP that doesn't restrict it to that.
An average 56k going at 49,333bps can download the Renegade 1.037 patch (which is 23Mb) in just over an hour and a half. By calculation, a single Mb at that speed would take almost 4 minutes, so in 2 hours, without any other use on the connection, it could download just over 30Mb. If you're planning to make the installer in segments, I'd make each segment about 26mb in size to be safe. There might be some sort of combining utility, such as one for sending audio files in pieces by e-mail, to combine them into one.

100 mb, not bad, won't take me to long to download as long as it isn't on File Planet, that always takes forever to even start the download. . . I have a question related, kinda, to .933 will file mirrors get .993 before everyone else so that they can upload it, and such for download?
