Arnold is actually doing a really good job as governor of California, regardless of his being a Republican. I'd definitely vote for Arnold over Bush, and I would have to look more closely at his record and ideas to make a decision whether or not he would be a better President than Kerry.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

You weren't looking for quality when you picked Kerry, why start now?

Wasn't looking for quality... blah blah blah.
Kerry's been in the Senate for a long time and, as such, has built up a pretty substantial voting record. And it's not the most liberal in history. When Tim Russert asked Ted Kennedy on Meet the Press whether John Kerry was more liberal than he was, he had this to say:
"Senator Kerry is more liberal than me in the same way that President Bush is a compassionate conservative."
If I wasn't looking for quality, I must have overlooked his war record. Apparently, he won the Silver Star and the Bronze Star, both important medals of valor in combat, I believe. Toss a couple purple hearts in, the fact that he still has shrapnel lodged in him, his distinction in leadership, and the fact that he killed 20 enemy soldiers in Vietnam shows a bit of quality right there. At least more than you can say for President Bush getting in to the National Guard to avoid the draft because his daddy was big and important.
And then, John Kerry can formulate complete, grammatically correct sentences without long pauses. Unlike President Bush.

Let's just forget how he put in for the Purple Heart for a splinter and left after 4 months while other real soldiers turned down multiple PHes to stay and fight.
So there goes his "War Hero" status.
There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.

Substantial voting record? John F. Kerry missed 72% of 119 recorded votes held in 2003 on issues President Bush had taken a position on according to Congressional Quarterly. Kerry's fellow Massachusetts senator Ted Kennedy missed just 3% of these votes. Kerry and Kennedy voted the same way 100% of the time on "key votes" in 1986 through 1989, 1992, 1993, 1998, 1999 and 2001.
I'm the bawss.

Well, seeing as I have a chest full of medals myself from 6 years active duty, have lost an appendage in active service and I didn't come home and backstab my fellow sailors by protesting them, I guess I am a better candidate than this self promoting, milk fed moron.
He put himself in for those medals, jackass.

Yes, but Kerry wants to shove this bogus "War Hero" status down our throats. We wouldn't care if he wouldn't keep mentioning it.

Nodbugger | How you use his WAR record as a positive when you are against WAR?
|
It can be very useful. Kerry can claim that he knows the harsh and grim reality of war, specifically of a controversial foreign war.
God is the "0wnage". Plain and Simple.

In terms of issue stances, I side more with Kerry.
However, Kerry does not seem to me the type of strong leader we need. I will admit that President Bush keeps a clear view in mind of what needs to be done and follows through on his actions.

Nodbugger | And my I ask what part you lost? Nothing big I hope.
|
My thumb was severed and shattered into three pieces, and my knee dislocated.
Naval doctors reconstructed and re-attached the thumb, but the knee is forever junk. Not too much you can do with them once the cartiledge has been ruined, and the minicus torn.
