Hi Guys
Are you aware that there is another problem for the owners of Renegade servers, there is some sort of programme out there that lets people crack the admins sign ons & passwords etc so that they are then able to ban all the other mods & admins within a server & Hack the server?
via using Brenbot etc.
I find this very worrying for the Future of Renegade servers as if this starts getting done with all the Renguard servers them us the Servers Owners will have no choice but to revert back to just plain old renegade servers without Renguard or Brenbot.
and just marshall them ourselves.
Or just shut the servers down Full Stop & move on.
this is the IP of the guy thats currently Hacking Renegade servers if anyone can find out who he is or Do something to stop him Let me Know.

It's not a program that cracks the password. It's caused by lack of security among server admins. Everyone needs to make sure and password protect ALL moderator names or people can join via command line and have full access.

Most likely a brute force attack on admin/mod nick passwords. Using the register command on IRC on BRenBot should fix that.

Took care of that by banning this individual from the RenGuard network, since he abuses brenbot's moderator rights though connecting though the command line. I already banned him once, but now it's definitally final.
Put RenGuard on your server, and you're protected.

Send a private message to BRenBot on IRC (you can say anything) and it will show you the commands:
<DeathServ> Valid Commands:
<DeathServ> register <gamename> <password>
<DeathServ> auth <gamename> <password>
Register your ingame nickname through this private message. Then when you join the game you have 60 seconds to identify. Do this by either using the "auth <gamename> " in the private message, or by typing "!auth <gamename>" in the IRC server channel (any mod/admin can do this in the IRC channel).
