Why does his middle name even matter? Barack Obama is not a Muslim. His father may have been one, but he had a very minimal relationship with his father, and had been a Christian for all his life.
If Obama is a Muslim, then hell, so was Thomas Jefferson, who actually had his own Qur'an, learned some Arabic and did not believe God was Triune.

It matters because sadly enough, someone having a muslim sounding name is enough to make intolerant people associate them with terrorism.
