What are you talking about "lag" on 360? Hardly any at all, and I play the game quite a lot. Granted, the servers weren't as stable as they should have been, but most of that has been fixed by now.

I play the hell out of zombies now, since everyone is pretty much on holiday right now. Me and a friend did dubs on Kino, got to level 40, just finished with a dog round, I had a Thunder Gun upgrade with a Ray gun upgraded, he had a Ray gun upgraded with an RPK upgraded + monkeys.
Would have lasted another 10+ rounds, maybe more, but for some reason I lagged out, idk how because I never lag out. Went back in and got to 38.

You have the time and patience to do something so incredibly boring for that amount of time? Props.
Zombies is fun for the first 5 or so times you play it, then it's just torture, really. It does lag like hell on 360, and that's one of the big issues that they've been fixing. They fixed much of it, including some major drop-out glitches, but I still see and experience "yellow" and "red" lag quite a bit more than other 360 games.

I love both MW2 and BlackOps. They both have their strong and weakpoints, but they're certainly not bad games imo. I do think there should be some new innovations in the next COD installment though.

Go to almost any gamestore, ask for MW2 and you'll get ripped of for 45+ euros...
The game should cost about 20 or maybe even 15 now. Apparently, they don't care about the people playing their games, but only about their wallets. If they really did care about the people, they'd lower the prices big time so EVERYONE should be able to buy a copy of the game.

People still buy it at that price so why lower it? It's a part of business... sorry the world doesn't work like that ... money talks retard.

So for $30 are you going to get Cod 4 or for $20 BF BC2? I highly doubt many people are buying the older versions for such exuberant prices. I'm sure some still are, but they'd be making a lot more money at reasonable prices. Just because people are still buying it, doesn't mean there would be more money made at a lower price. Just look at the Steam sales the past few days, people are eating up these games like crazy, a fair number of them are 6 months - 10 years old, some of them priced well below retail. It works.
It just amazes me that people are willing to pay $60 every year for the same rehashed shit. Don't get me wrong, Cod 4 was great, but getting more or less the same thing 4 times over is absurd.
However, props to them for having so many sheep. I personally think their business tactics encourage piracy and they could learn a thing or two from DICE/EA (lol learning from EA  ).

Lol, thanks? And it's fun if you're playing with people that know what they are doing. Instead of just hiding in one spot of the map, and just trying to hold a spot, we run around the entire map just fending for ourselves. It's much more fun.
And, tbh, I haven't had any type of lag related issue since the game first came out, and I play on xbox360. The only thing that I have had troubles with are the servers randomly dropping (but it seems that's been fixed for the most part.) Hardly ever lag unless we get a shitty host or some host from UK or something.
And the best CoD ever was either CoD2 or CoD4 as far as multiplayer. More then likely CoD4, as those two were the most balanced of any cods.

A question regarding RenGuard. Because it's a client/server application, what will stop the legions of people who cheat, and can crack apps, from reverse engineering it down to it's core protocol / encryption (which I'll assume it has), and duplicating it, so that they have their own client which responds to the server with all the correct info for an unpatched Renegade, but in fact is patched.
Personally, I think you should write a server-side only anti-cheat, which hooks the networking routines in Renegade. From there, using either the help of your staff who worked on creating Renegade, or from knowledge aquired while working with the network code in Renegade, create a system to monitor hit locations (did they REALLY hit, based on calculations by the anti-cheat (stopping BH)), how much damage are they claiming, vs how much damage their currently selected weapon really does, etc.
Then, add rate-of-fire checking, complete w/ lag tolerance (since lagged client will of course, upon delag, seem to fire faster, etc), and option to simply "edit" the incoming packets, to filter out the cheat (reduce damage, stop bullets, etc), or kick-ban the cheater (admins decision, based on anti cheat config).
Is it just me, or does that make more sense?
The flaw to Renegade of course, which is the core to the cheats, is that unlike most other games, Renegade lets the CLIENT decide hit locations, damage, RoF, etc. Vs others which say, "ok, the client fired their pistol along this trajectory. Did they hit something? How much damage did they do to that target if so. Report findings to clients".
My only concern, is that there will be alot more teams of people ripping apart the hard work of your small team, and undoing what you have done. Can you keep up writing fixes / completely rewriting the protocol to counter them once they have created their OWN complete anti-RenGuard client? If not, consider the server-side only method, and solve it once and for all, with the only version changes being to fix bugs, and not complete rewrites which will really piss admins off (if it takes this long for the initial, how long after the cheaters create their own client to counter it will your rewrite take to do?).

ill say this again to all the TT people actually working on the patch. all you have to do is fix the bugs in the game. This is your role. dont get involved in a pointfix debate that you can never win (spoony has never managed to win one and hes a decent player) nor bother suggesting solutions for the faults in pointfix. just fix the damn bugs and you will all be remmebered as renegade heroes.

I have been playing MW2 on 360 for a lil while now, I love it. Thinking about getting the map packs for it, but the copy I have been playing is not mine, GF's cousin keeps leaving it over.
I borrowed Black Ops from a friend at work, played it for about 2 days... It was ok, but it didn't compare to MW2 IMO. I personally like the newer weapons and attachments (e.g heartbeat sensor, thermal scope). Also I like the perks better on MW2, Lord of war doesn't work for under barrels and pro doesn't give 2 secondary attachments. And shotguns as primary weapons? Fuck that, I can get more range with a pistol.
The few things with Black Ops that did seem better were, tomahawk > throwing knife, the camera spike sounded cool (didn't use it since I had 2 players on all the time), and the 2 grenade slots plus a 3rd for the new equipment was nice. Ballistic knife and crossbow sounded cool for just killing people with a lil more style, but not worth taking the secondary slot.
Still got quick scoping faggots that don't know how to properly use a sniper rifle... Someone actually hugged a wall on me in Black Ops, I thought I had joined a Ren server...
Although I do agree that MW2 should be considerably cheaper by now. The guy I borrowed Black Ops from said he would have got MW2, but it was $10 more...

Balanced in terms of skillset. In CoD4, whoever was the better player won the fights/games everytime. In MW2, it wasn't like that. That's why MW2, in terms of competitive gameplay (because I did love the campaign), sucked compared to CoD4. The reason why CoD2 is up there is because it had no perks. Therefore, all it was about was basically who had the better gunning skill.

anyone that uses anything thats not marathon lightweight and ninja as their setup is bad at MW2 so who gives a shit about bling and warlord and heartbeat sensors and shit .. heartbeat sensor is a moron detector .. you can only kill kids stupid enough to not use ninja with it so they're so bad you could kill them without it ... come on are you serious ...

Yea, @Chew; you can tell that you were more of a pub-player lol. In the competitive seen in MW2, all you needed was Lightweight/Stopping Power, Marathon/SoH, Ninja. That was it. And either the UMP or the ACR. You couldn't even use Bling in competitive play, and using a Heartbeat sensor was pretty much useless seeing as how anyone that knew what they were doing used ninja anyway. Sadly, I have played people, in Variant, that have used Heartbeat sensors..

I'm low 200k. Though, I haven't played GB in a couple months because I've been horribly busy. Let's put it this way: a teammate of mine has no life and has kept playing GB. He was about 190k and now is 60k. I played a bit more than him and won more than he did, lol.

i think black ops sucks and i have a 2.55 KD .. second chance pro and flak jacket are the dumbest things ever made plus the guns do damage based on how far away you are from someone ... worst call of duty game ever from a competitive stand point
