I think Alien will invade in 2012 and he will have vast hunger for rice. Human will not share rice and Alien will destroy human.
Actually, I think this mayan guy was working out the next 1000 year calendar and ended up running out of wall space when he hit 2012. He probably thought that he was never going to be around in 1000 years so decided to leave it to the next generation to sort out. Unfortunately, the next generation were slaughtered by the Spanish.
The moral is, in about 7991 years, Alien (who now has vast quantaties of rice) will discover an ancient human technology. The humans called it "Outlook", they worshipped it every day by providing gifts of email and contacts. The humans believed that by sending Outlook messages, they would receive messages back from the world of INTERNETZ!
Alien will discover the human calendar ends on 31/12/9999. Therefore, human did not expect to receive messages after 9999. Alien and will cry "WTF!" at NULL DATE!
What does it mean? The end of the Universe! And, rice! And the INTERNETZ!

No, but is that any sillier than claiming he was the physical incarnation of a god?
|
No, but at least claiming that he his is believable, unlike claiming he is an alien.
One just says insanity, the other just says "I'm looking for attention."
There are mental cases nowadays where people go insane and what not, believing they are something they aren't... what makes you think that Jesus couldn't be?

I never said Jesus could not be insane. I believe that when it comes to "miracles", you have to consider the relative probabilities. If any of the reported writings concerning Jesus are reliable (we already have to make a pretty generous assumption right at the beginning of this argument) you have to weigh the odds that he truly was the incarnation of God, compared to the odds that he was insane, lying, or honestly mistaken (which may count as insane in many peoples' eyes).
Although, you seem to've misinterpreted my statement. I wasn't referring to Jesus being claimed to be an alien/God by Jesus, I was referring to Jesus being claimed to be an alien/God by modern humans.
