I say you settle this with deagles!!!!

Post the IP of the server, someone can jump in a get you the URLs or admin names to get you reinstated if you indeed were just pwning and not being a n00b... that begs the question, if you play there regularly why would they ban you just for pwning unless a lazer mouse made that much of a difference... which really it should not... mouse sensitivity adjustment goes a long way in CS... unless you were playing with a ball mouse before.

At first I thought this thread was a pretty good example of sarcasm, but after reading the entire thread, I now think that he was actually being honest, and that is just plain scary.

What he posted for was information that would lead him to the server in question. He posted here because he is part of the Renegade community, and people here occasionally play other games besides Renegade. It's a long shot, but maybe someone here could have played on the same server recently and remembered more than him.

Also, this IS the off topic forum. If I'm not mistaken, anything (That isn't against the rules, of course) goes, amright?

I have no problem when new people come in and are confused. There's reason to actually be kind to them and help them out. Then there's Viking. There's a certain point you have to reach where you just let the idiot figure things out on his own. If he doesn't, then we'll always be his crutch, and we'll have to continue to support his idiocy. You know... much like welfare (oops, politics!).

I am brand new here and I have two things to add.

It is F*ing awesome that there are so many people active here. With the exception of one forum that I help run most places are visit are just brainless and cluttered with people that would have never posted on a thread like this either way.

Two, anyone defending Viking is just being nice. The question was not just dumb, in the wrong place, it would have started a flame war on ANY CSS board. A large part of CS players are either young and cocky or so full of testosterone that their brain only half functions... so he actually did not get too bad of a response here.

That is my .2c

Welcome to the boards. Now, understand that this question is NOT in the wrong place, because this is general discussion, meaning anything (Within reason) goes.

Notice any of the other threads here?
"MP3 Player Suggestions"
"Donkey Kong Country 2"
"Super Nintendo Controller"

And yet nobody answers with "WTF Y U POST HERE GTFO TO NENTENDO FORUM". Or "HAY THIS TALK ABOUT MP3 PLAYAR NOT RENEGADE GTFO". If it's not against the rules (This isn't) and there isn't another forum that covers the subject (There isn't), then this is where it belongs. People just like picking on Viking because he's Viking.

The biggest difference between the MP3 player thread and this one is the fact that MP3 players are physical devices and the question at hand is "what should I buy" instead of "HOW DO I CONTACTS APPEL 2 GET UNBANND?"

whoa.

Getting reviews and advice is much better use of time than the topic creator not using Google.

I'm sure any information-request thread is a waste of time, since I'm sure it's all there on Google, wikipedia, or some other place, right?

So back to my point, why does MP3 thread get a response that isn't "WTF SEARCH GOOGLE FOR MP3 REVIEWS IF YOU WANT MP3 ADVICE!!1!"

Because he's coming to a place where he can get opinions from people that he respects enough to trust. You can get a general idea on how good a player is by reading the reviews, but coming here is also a sense of paraphrasing the reviews, so that they're condensed into one thread. Plus, you can't so easily interact with reviews as you can with people on a message board.

Of course, the same principle can't apply to this thread. "Well, I personally like to search Google for my queries since it's quick and has the largest cache of Counter-Strike: Source-related results typically, but I hear that Yahoo! would probably be good, too. You might want to think about checking that search engine out for your answer." See, that doesn't really work with this thread.

whoa.

I provided Viking with the answer a page ago, so why the hell is this thread still going on? Sure, I made fun of him, but at least I gave him the correct address, instead of being a total dick and posting the address 'justfuckinggoogleit' or posting pictures of ugly algae-suckers.
