Most well known rule of arguements:
In the absence of a factor that changes the variable, the arguement continues with the original set of parameters.
Without specifying that the distance had changed from at the head to somethign other than that (being an unknown distance), you continued to argue givin the original parameters. Those being with the distance established at close quarters.
Apperantly you fail to realize this, though I will admit assuming people can read minds must do wonders with your "argumentative win percentage". YOu must nevr loose! Don't like the parameters of the arguement, change them without telling anyone! Brilliant

I call people names all the time. That has just about no bearing on this discussion, though, so why bring it up? You misunderstand, you DID make something up. You made up a scenario to coincide with your little fantasy in your head AFTER the matter of fact in order to weasle out of the CQC argument that fell properly in line with the "hold a gun to your head" argument. (Which was already picked apart, because holding a gun to your head and pointing a gun at you from 10 feet away [like you meant but didn't say] are two entirely different things).
I didn't say anything about point blank either.

If I can get out of it, I obviously would. And you would too. You didn't say that "I" had a gun. And even if I did, there are hand-to-hand/gun movements designed to deal non-lethal blows/shots together in such situations (if, of course, you're meaning something you didn't say again).

I have some CQC training, so I would know whether or not the necessity to kill was real. In most cases, believe it or not, it isn't. Since I'm assuming you haven't had any kind of training whatsoever, I guess I'm wasting my time trying to educate you.

The double-tap, like Nodbugger said, is simply a pair of shots fired in extremely short succession aimed at the "A" section of an IPSC torso target.
As for the MP5... I have personally never gotten to use one, yet. However, I do know that some variants of the machine pistol have what is called an "automatic-double-tap" (in essence, a two round fully automatic pair of shots), which essentially plugs two rounds into relatively the same space (because of the obvious recoil of each shot) in a smaller time frame than your finger could ever do. Do I really need to tell you what happens when two shots hit someone in a fractal millisecond timeframe in just about the same location? I thought not.
But then again, it depends on your definition of "take down a target". Because there are quite a few ways to do that (fatal or non-fatal) effectively with an automatic double tap. If you're trying to incapasitate without killing the person, you might aim on the lefthand side of the "C" or "D" section of an IPSC target. You'll likely puncture a lung, but duel shots will have your problem on the ground in shock, giving you the oppurtunity to manually disarm or administer aid or what have you. If you're trying to cause a fatal shot, you need to aim at parts of the body that would case imminent death with no chance of them misfiring and hitting you, such as a pair of bullets penetrating the spinal cord at the neck or Just in front of the cerebellum.
