ok, ive decided to give mapping a go, well i got public tools and i told a friend thamy my renx wasnt working,yes, when i unzipped the public tools i had both boxes checked, well he told me that when i download and install the reall discreet gmax, that ittl work, so i downlaoded gmax and go to install it, it searches for installed applicatios, and error appears, syas it cant modify the readme file, so what do i do. the fix didt work. i need help!

Try uninstalling them, then deleteing the folders that they were in if they are still there. Then re-install G-Max FIRST, then the Renegade Tools SECOND.

From what you wrote it sounds as if you installed the tools, then G-max which I don't think would work, please correct me if I am wrong.

ok, tnaks a lot., i didnt do that, my bad. well i made my first map, got a few objects in...3, and a nod and gdi spawn points, the pt woulnt make when i hit make so i screwed em. thanks again man!
