Hey guys..I got a prob with RG, jus yesterday it stopped working for no reason, I haven't updated/changed anything so I cannot think why it's not working, I'm using Windows XP sp2 32 bit, I've added exceptions for RenGuard & Renegade in my firewall settings.

I really need a solution to this Sad

Any/all help is greatly apreciated.

I tried it, but no luck.

I got 'page cannot be displayed', when I typed in my gateway.

I believe I have a cable modem, but a static ip.

Server #101? There are not even 10 servers, never mind 100, it looks like your client has downloaded a corrupted copy of the server list... not sure how you could force it to re-download the correct copy though.

Ever since people have been getting this problem my Renguard loads and plays faster than ever, whats up with that?

Nah I got Windows XP.

I however know how to possibly get yours to work tho.

Join Renegade with game2.exe and play 1 game, let the second level load then quit.

Now your RenGuard should allow you to connect.

I have the same problem, since a month or maby longer, i have cable connection and my router is DMZ so all ports free

It's just a program that has had its time, hasn't been updated in ages and generally has some unsolved problems. It shouldn't be a ban. I'm afraid there's nothing anyone can do for you.

i think i got pretty close with solving this with Azazel about a week ago, as far as we got was to apply the xwisc.exe patch of the main servers, for some reason that fixed it temporarilly, dunno if it's still fixed tho..

Just keeps going and going.
Againm, had no problems the past few days (just reinstalled renegade recently). Windows 7. Reset my internet connection, flushed dns, reinstalled both renegade and renguard, No fix.
Wireless Linksys router, no settings have been changed from whne it was working, reset the router several times as well.

Edit: I monitored game.exe to see where it was trying to connect to. Heres a picture.

Edit2: Completely removed renegade/renguard again, deleted all registry keys and entries I could find for renegade and renguard. Changed my IP address. No change, still cant connect.

Edit3; Disabled router firewall, windows defender, windows firewall. No success.

Hiya, I found the solution yesterday, so I signed up, but Admin had to approve account first Huh

Anyways I was getting this problem randomly yesterday, I live in London btw, what I did was follow the speedtouch solution, even though I do not have a speedtouch.

Here is what you do, open up your gateway in your browser, then find the UPnP option, and make sure it is switched ON.

I did this, and Renguard worked immediately.

I hope this helps everyone else.

EDIT: To find your default gateway address go to Run type CMD and in the black box type in "ipconfig" (without quotes), you should find it listed, usually its always 192.168.1.1, but it can differ.

EDIT 2: A little strange, I decided to try and turn off the UPnP feature to see if Renguard stopped working, and strangely it did not, it still works, I am not going to complain, but I suggest you try it none the less, if it works, then hey diddle dee doo.

Sadly, UPnP can be a security hole. Updating your router's firmware may be able to resolve this.

Renguard is a wonderful initiative

why not just run ren without renguard wait for TT 4.0 then renguard will no longer be needed.

Sorry guys..I kinda forgot my pw Blush

But I have a solution to this thanks to a fellow mod called DRNG @ n00bstories.

His exact post: I just got that Connecting to Server 1 2 3 4 thing that everyone seems to get. I restarted my computer, and loaded RG before IRC then when RG was loaded I started up IRC and then loaded Teamspeak and got in perfectly.

Apparantly RG connects to the same server as n00bstories IRC, so it got bugged some how, its now working fine Smile

I can confirm that was Azazel posted works. I couldn't get RG working for like 3.5 months and this simple fix worked.
