Everyone, look at this! http://www.cnc-comm.com/news.php
There a small group making a alternitave westwood online. There has already been a smal release between the beta testers, but the servers are currently offline. in a nutshell, it simply allows you to play ALL the C&C's excluding Generals + ZH and C&C3 online. Even Sole Survivor and Nox and all the other WW classics.

It is like XWIS, it will allow you to connect to the Westwood created C&C games over the internet like back when WOL was still around.

That's pretty awesome. Just another sign that I need to send my TFD disc to EA for a replacement.

It MIGHT bring it back to popularity, personally, I would love to see C&C95 boom again. Other features of the program are, Admins and moderators, Im not sure how that is going to work.. we will have to wait and see.

I've seen plenty of WOL clones try and fail, so good luck. Personally, I would never send my serial to a server that wasn't hosted or sanctioned by EA and it would be stupid for anyone else to.

I'm the bawss.

Its not my program Razz. I just said I would let people know about it. I have tried the program out, I cannot release it though. It works perfectly, but they brought down the servers to fix some bugs.

Hello guys. I am here to say that AWOS does not support any game that uses the EA server, like Generals or Tiberium Wars. we only support these games:

Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn
Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun
Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Firestorm
Command & Conquer Red alert 1
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Yuris Revenge
Command & Conquer Renegade
Emperor: Battle for dune
Nox quest
Dune 2000

and Westwood Chat

AWOS does not require a serial, so don't worry about us stealing your serial. Smile

Sounds good. Smile
By the way, in games like Renegade, it sends the serial to the server by default. I believe that is what Crimson means.

The WOL clone you're using has to be some form of a script/program.

It;s a program where you enter a IP address which connects to the servers, allowing you to join a lobby.

Yes, but the server end is running a script/program that makes it possible, just like XWIS.

True, like an FDS for C&C95 - Renegade + RA2.Still though, I want to play Sole Survivor online, which you can't do with XWIS.
