How do I render movies for renegade? I know how to view them in renegade and I know how to convert them to bik. But how do I animate them? I'm talking about when in SP mode, when it playes a movie everytime you get to the next level.
I'm guessing the only way is to get 3ds max, animate it, and render to movie?
Remeber the very first movie it showed in the very begining of SP? Where Havoc flyes in by a chinook. I noticed that movie wasn't a bik in the renegade directory anywhere. I also noticed that it's got the crappy looking lines around them or whatever. They're not smooth like the other movies. If I have to have 3ds max to render a smooth movie, can't I just make a movie like this and use Fraps or something to make it a movie? If I can make it like this, how do I? To make the *.bik videos, you do need 3ds or something else to render stuff with.
As for the video on mission 1, thats done with Cinematic scripting (thats also how they did things like the bit in the ship level where havoc rescues the prisoners for example). How to do Cinematics, that I dont know tho.

Thank you. I know what I can do. I can make a animation in gmax, export it as w3d, open it in w3d viewer, use fraps to record it, and use bink video to convert it to a bik. Wow, that take alot of software. Lucky for me I have them all. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) After all that, I can replace the original movies with them.

I downloaded the plasma demo but the demo virsion has it's own format so I can't import p3d from renx. But being able to render is super cool. I also noticed that plasma can handle alot more polys without getting a low frame rate than gmax.

yea on the first lvl movie is kinda diffrent i dont know how they did it but i do know its a cut-scene not a movie
how i made sure
orca mod: i kill same site and put orca by it in the movie i saw the orca
second time i put it ON the communications center and i saw it so it isnt a movie but a cut scene
