The Problem: I put the Renegade disc 1 one in the cd drive. It comes up and I click play. The cd gets going and the Renegade picture thing comes up and then is goes away...but the the cd just slows down and doesn't load renegade.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled, and restarted my computer and all that. Please help Huh

Btw, I have also tried running Medal of Honor, but it has the same problem too.

Put disc 2 in! lol

Disc 1 is the Installer, rofl!

Or download and install Renguard ( Http://renguard.com ) and install Core patch 2, It come's with a No Cd Patch. Wink

if you do install Renguard and get CP2, Just click Renegade, click cancle and play!

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Actually Disc 2 is the data disc, and disc 1 is the game disc.
I tried putting renegade disc 2 and a window popped up and told me to put disc 1 in.

Anyways, I'll try downloading renguard and core patch 2.

UPDATE: I downloaded renguard, and I tried to run it and it said, "No WOL Name found. Connecting to WOL will probably fail."
And the renguard just couldn't connect.

Here's a screenshot of when I tried using renguard...
To see what renguard says, drag your mouse over the screenshot, and click the button that pops up Big Ups

You can play with either, but to watch the videos in between missions, you use the Data disk.

Your firewall is probably blocking RenGuard from connecting to it's master servers then.

It does leave you more vulnerable to turn it off, but chances are you'd get hit with lightning before a malicious user decides to attack you. Besides, you can always turn the protection back on when you've finished playing online games.

That's true, as I haven't been hacked, but have been hit by lightning, there goes my old 478 mobo... Sad

exactly its stupid to turn of your firewall, unless you want to become another zombie amongst all these others.

Also before looking at the Renguard not loading issue. Try to get Renegade started first. Have you tried game2.exe yet?

It's located in Driveletter(C:\Westwood\Renegade\Game2exe.

Ya, I just tried it.
Won't work Huh

I really just think there's something wrong with my computer.
My computer turns off randomly like 4 times a day. So, I think that kinda ties in with this problem. I can't seem to figure out the whole problem though.

Btw, my older brother wants to know if wiping our computer could be possibility ?

Virus and/or spyware?

AVG free anti virus is a free, decent antivirus program. Spybot search and destroy is a start against spyware.

Google them.

This could easily be a hardware problem; a defunct video card or memory perhaps.

Try a scan with Bitdefender online.
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

Kaspersky
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus

As you stated the problem it sounds like a hardware component is failing, or your Windows is really messed up. If it just random crashes then your Windows is just getting messed up worse. My advice if you don't know alot about computers is just to bring it to a pc shop since there's some things that has to be tested if its hardware sided..
Unless you dont know what your doing you could try:

_Complete reinstall
_hdd test
_mem test

But like I said there's alot of things that has to be tested if its hardware matic so..

bet your computer just needs to refresh its ram or somedin. renegade stopping and your computer crashing sounds like something is building up till you computer turns off. check the performance window on the taskmanager as soon as you tun your pc on. a while later (as late as you can get without knowing there is a large chance of your computer cra$hing) check it again and compare the results.
