When ever i try to join a server with gamespy arcade it gives me a error "version mismatch".

no i did not cause it gives me the same error as beford "old file missing".

You can't install RenGuard then try to install the patch.

What you have to do now that you've screwed it up is uninstall RenGuard, uninstall Renegade, delete the Renegade folder, then install Renegade, apply the patch, then install RenGuard.
