I've recently (yesterday) gotten back into Renegade after about a year of absence. Today, I've downloaded RenGuard. When I try to download the core patch, it gets to the point where it is almost done and the downloader says the download has been aborted, resume manually, or something to that effect. I've tried running it multiple times. There is no link to the patch on the RenGuard site. I've went into my Renegade folder and ran download.exe. My whole system froze and I finally had to reset my computer. I'm starting to think that it would be better to just stay out there with the cheaters. Any suggestions that might change my mind?

First off, the Core Patch is provided by Blackhand Studios, who also makes RenGuard, and RenGuard is used at a delivery method for the patch, but it is not a patch of RenGuard itself, and does NOT affect whether or not RenGuard works.
Beyond that, please make sure your Renegade is updated to the latest version (1.037) before installing either RenGuard or the Core Patch.

RenGuard WAS made by Blackhand Studios. It's just that the Core Patch is a SEPARATE independent project of ours.
