I know this isn't a cp1 or even a renegade post, but. I am house watching for a friend and he has Directway Direct PC sattalite connection wich is 10Mbps for speed. The question is its super fast surfing, but my ping for renegade is 1800. Since cp1 will have lots of responds I just thought that someone would know how (and if) I can fix this. I even went to they're website and found no answer. It also has nothing to do with the weather, alignment, firewalls because downloading and surfing are superfast with no latncey or slowdowns. Please help I want to play Renegade on a connection other thant 56k. Wich by the way i have a good ping for dial up on wich is usually 226 -300.
Just when u thought u seen the last of me.....ILL BE BACK!!!

Laeubi | This can't be fixed and Pings on Sattelite are always high.
The Signal goes to your Satelite ISP, is send to the satelite, then send to you.
its a physical limit.
|
And in worst cases, it's sent from you to satellite, then from satellite to service provider, then back to satellite and from the satellite to you again.
As Läubi said, satellite connections don't really work for online gamers as the pings are always huge.
There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.
