There will always be a newer and "better" version of something. That doesn't make it worthless or outdated.

That used to be true, but not anymore. My phone has a 2MP camera with flash, burst mode, 6x zoom, scene settings (day/night/beach/portrait/sunlight/etc).
There are several other phones on the market that have 5MP+ cameras, like the top of the line Nokia (which even has optical zoom), and the new Sony Cybershot phones which have all of the features of their Cybershot digital cameras.
If you notice, lots of news photos show people holding their phones up to take pictures. I think phones are moving towards becoming more than just a phone but rather high-end media devices.
Now if they could just figure out how to make them not drop calls

Yes, I payed for this with my own money, however I get so much per month, I can afford it.
Apple may upgrade the phone, but it'll be a while before it happens.

Because some fags can't afford an iPhone, so they flame you instead.

I see your point there but I guess I am a lot fussier since I have some pretty high end photography gear. The MP are all fine but aren't all that important. A large amount of MPs just means that the image will be larger and can be blown up to a larger extent (most people think the amount of MP dictates the quality of the image). The lenses are far more important here so I'm pretty sure you would find that an old digital compact with 2MP would be a lot better than a 5MP camera phone. You can also argue that some camera phones with a very small MP count are better than the ones with a billion trillion gazillion pixels. I just like to use tools that are dedicated to the task they were designed to do. That's it for my early morning rant

The Nokia N95 and other series have Carl Zeiss optics and optical zoom. Far from a crappy cricket phone ccd vga camera.
