Luck finally caught up to him. He was known for getting dangerously close to deadly animals and somehow escaping without any fatal injuries. It's just kind of ironic that a usually non-lethal creature was the one that put the nail in Steve Irwin's coffin. Weird twist of fate for the barb to pierce his heart.

Steve Irwin was a great guy. It is sad to hear that he passed away. Left behind was his two children, dog and wife. He will be missed by many.

Yeah I was shocked when I heard this too, he really entertained me when I first saw his 10 deadlist snakes in the world tv show where the most dangerous licked his face.
As he was raised around crocs and venomous snakes he knew how to handel them and the respect that should be given to these dangerous animals - so I never thought they would get the better of him, it was only his under estimation of this stingray that killed him
He will be missed by me for sure

Its a conspirarcy, the Manta Ray wasnt acting alone....there was a turtle on the grassy knoll.
Wait, didn't the dog die of cancer? To be honest Stevo kind ruined alot of my life over the years. I know, i know, sounds crazy, but my mom is and was OBSESSED we have tape after tape of every single croc hunter and croc hunter diaries on tape. Also backup tapes in case something happens.
Christmas day, "Hey mom come in here", She replies "Hold on croc diaries is almost off"
And you can only see what is more important to her.

Wouldnt that make his survival rate drop dramatically? I always heard if something large penetrates the skin more than 3 inches that leaving it in will stop the bleeding until you can get surgery.
