Yeah, McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell and the other big chains are all going down in quality reeeeally fast. I'd rather pay the extra buck and go to Harvey's or Wendy's for a real meal rather than getting those cheap value meals that make you sick.

Their food looks really awesome; even the shakes are supposed to be quite good. But unfortunately I've actually never been to a Wendy's in my life. Sad

What do you eat up there in Canadia? Snow and whale blubber?! Neutral

We'd eat Bennigan's, but we're still on strike until you give us the 2 for 1 coupons.

Harvey's

Now that's good stuff. Unfortunately, the two nearest ones are miles away, with one being in a Home Depot, and the other in our major airport. Vancouver really sucks when you just want a decent fucking burger for a couple bucks.

I hit my first 80 a few weeks ago. I'm not too interested in doing Battlegrounds or raids at the moment, so I'm taking a break.

About a year, maybe an hour a day or so. (lot of various days of binging or not playing at all)

edit: According to the game, I've played that particular character for about 16 days. You can reach level 80 in as low as 9 days, so you can say I took my time.

"I didn't like this game, therefore IT SUCKS!!1!"

Faggots. I don't like WoW either, but so many players can't be wrong. MMOs aren't my thing, and they probably aren't yours if you don't like it, but there's no need to get all dramatic and shit.

I'm only vocal about it because I know WAY too many people that disappeared off the face of the earth due to that game, even though, to me, it hardly looks enjoyable in any way.

I guess that means religion must be right, regardless of any other facts or evidence proving otherwise, since so many people believe in it or have at some point, going by your logic.

If so many people believe in it, it must do at least some good. And it does! People have kicked their addictions and whatnot in the name of Jesus. While it doesn't mean that all sorts of religious dogma is proven correct just because of the numbers of members who believe, it does mean that a statement like "I hope the catholic church dies a long and slow death untill they are bankrupt. May the financial crisis hit them hard." are just melodramatic overreaction.

If Dover's logic is faulty, then just because many people addict themselves on WoW, it doesn't mean I will.

I haven't played since Friday, I was away for the weekend. And while I'd like to be playing it, I'm not suffering WoW withdrawal.

And at least one aspect of Dover's post is correct. You don't like it, OK. You want to tell people you don't like it, sure. You want to condemn it to the fiery inferno of epic fail/crap because of your opinion? Sarcasm

Yes, I think the servers should be CAST INTO HELL!

On a related note:
My first post was one of the most retarded posts not in spam fest that can be made (other than a bot or spam).
I posted that just saying how horrible I felt it was the times I played it, it felt more like a job than anything else. I was only giving my personal opinion. I know some people who are and were addicted to it, and it's pathetic.

I agree with addiction: it's a good game in my opinion, but if you cannot go several days without it then it's a problem.
And yes, a lot of the gameplay is lie a job, wha with questing and farming, but for me it contributes somewhat to the realism, and if it gets tedious I just find a few players to party with. I enjoy partying because we work together and combine our skills to take on more enemies than usual.

Just because you're not addicted(or have a dependance, whether psychological or otherwise) to something doesn't mean it won't negatively affect your life. So be careful, your energy/time that could go towards being productive may end up being spent "being productive" in WoW.

The same can be said for any game, including Renegade (And even ones that have a much larger acceptance in the greater society like Chess). Any time not spent "being productive" (There's a subjective term if there ever was one) would be a negative affect on life by the strictest standards. I think we can agree "being productive" in WoW doesn't translate well into being productive in the "real world", but where do you draw the line? How much time is acceptable for people to spend on their own enjoyment? Labor activists used to have a slogan that went "Eight hours for work, eight hours for sleep, and eight hours for whatever we please". How much time is it necessary to spend on one's own enjoyment to keep morale up?
I'm happy this shit-tastic thread is finally turning around.

There are only two ways to NOT like an MMORPG:

1. Develop opinion based on looking at it and not playing it.
2. It conflicts with beliefs or knowledge you already posses. (For example, if a Star Wars MMO came out, but it didn't feel like Star Wars, you wouldn't like it.)

Basically, if you play an MMORPG, you WILL like it and WILL want to play it more.

They are like drugs. Bad to use and bad to play... but addicting nonetheless.
