The audi is a practical super car. You want 600 hp that you can go show off at the track? Buy a viper. Understand though they aren't fun to drive daily. We've had several in our family before.
As for rear wheel drive american vs awd import. Well the japs, germans, auzis' they all have the right idea here. AWD cannot be beat when built right. It just makes sense and works.
Sure the corvette is one sexy car. Don't push your foot to hard on a corner though or else your down $80 grand.
BTW, I'm not some rice lover. I own a 1974 Nova SS that I'm just finishing a rebuild on. New 450 hp 383 stoker will be going in this spring. Built by me. So far I've replaced every major part of the drive line atleast once. I know my way around it. Oh ya, it's my daily driver this summer.

I have a 66 barracuda, slant six, three on a tree (I will not tolerate that btw), air conditioning, baby blue paint, vinyl top, and has no rust.
Oh, by the way, this is worth about 80K fully restored.
very rare car.

Thank you Goz. Too many people posting in this thread fail to grasp that.
There is something about this car that catches my eye and just doesn't let go...

To me it speaks drive me. Not like some of the other super cars where its like, "Trailer me to the track and open her up!"
Its one of the better selling points to most of the porsches. Had one of those in my driveway a few months ago(yes with snow on the ground). Here's the one:
