Atomic is nuclear, it just happens to be purely nuclear Fission wheras the current generation of Hygrogen bombs involve both nuclear Fission and nuclear Fusion. Really, it's one thing to correct people when you're right, but when you're wrong...
It causes a nuclear explosion, but it's not a nuclear weapon. It's an atomic weapon, hence it's called an "atom bomb."
