The story was shaky at best, and the political message was as blatant as if they ran "Bush sucks" ads every 5 minutes. Perhaps the most obvious satire was how the president in this flick was made to be a bumbling idiot, while when Clinton was in office, Emmerich's president in Independence Day was a hero.

Then we have some ridiculous patchy references to this whole catastrophe being our fault and the "moral" being that the VP was wrong, that we have to be more careful blah blah blah... all the while in the back of my head I'm thinking "They said this happened 10 million years ago... we cause that one too?"

So, dumb story based in pure fiction and political propaganda... but it was cool to watch shit get owned. Razz

I'm the bawss.
