I saw it today also. My and my friends did laugh the whole way though. I still do not know how the Sahara Desert froze.

I'm convinced Michael Moore made the movie.

It's all about the temperature regulation. The only reason the southern zone of the northern hemishpere was saved was because the temperature fluxuations were minimized because of the sun, and probably the oceans current was relatively maintained around that area (hence why the southern hemisphere wasn't touched -the currents weren't affected.)
