I have the same problem, I had to reformat my computer, but my brother broke my Data disc for Renegade, so I couldn't reinstall it. But I could still install RenAlert, just not connect to WOL. But there is a solution:

Ok, create a shortcut on your desktop for the renalert game.exe(can be found in westwood\renalert), then name it something like "n00bsvr03", or whatever you want. Then right click on it and go to properties, and it the Target box, type this:
C:\Westwood\RenAlert\Game.exe +connect 69.93.110.18:7000 +netplayername "yourname"
Make sure the "" marks are there. This is seperate from WOL, so it won't count toward you rank, or at least i don't think it will. From in-game, it will look like you're playing on GameSpy, but with a lot less lag.
Anyway, if all is right, when you click on that icon it will take you directly to n00bsvr03.

Posted by Renx, it direct connects you to n00bserv03. Just do that till you get new Serial/Renegade CD.
