if you knew the first thing about economics and if you actually ready my post and if you actually did some research, you would find that i stated that the US's fiscal policy devalued the dollar on purpose, as this has the effect of making it cheaper for overseas countries to export from the US but it makes foriegn imports more expensive for american companies, thus increasing demand for home made US goods but making the rest of the worlds goods more expensive to import, and thus lowering demand for them.

If you insist on going back to the blitz, maybe you would find it interesting to know that the US didnt help out of the goodness of your hearts, the US was happy to sit back and watch europe destroy itself, only when Pearl Harbour wars attacked did you interviene. Once you did interviene you did not do it for the good of the world as a whole, the US demanded payment for its help in the war, which led to the down fall of the "british empire", sounds like a mercenary action to me. once again no flame is intended just a little reality check

Downfall of the empire? C'mon now. The empire was in decline since America broke free in the revolution.

The U.S. actually had a non-interference policy back then which was a result of the backlash of WW1 trench warfare and chemical warfare.

Ever heard of the bases for ships deal which proves America's president was trying to get involved BEFORE Pearl, and what of the Marshall plan to rebuild ALL of Europe after the war?

WW2 was probably the most selfless war America has ever fought. It was fought to preserve the democracies that existed at the time. It was not fought for economics, as our economy could survive isolation at the time, and it was not fought because we wanted the end of the british empire. We did not take over. Each country was restored, and is independent.

The empire was VOLUNTARILY dismantled by BRITAIN, using the commonwealth system. This system is still in effect, which former colonies still part of Britain. (See Bermuda) Isreal was created VOLUNTARILY by the BRITISH in one of thier former territories.
