I've tried that Dal, it doesn't work. I get this error:

(The beginning point of procedure blahblahblah cannot be found in Kernel32.dll)

If I do the same but also change the executables in RA1 directory to Win95 compatible and install the patch, the game at least tries to launch but crashes and spits out this error:

There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.
