this has happened to my a fe times when i tried to apply the texture. so when it asks you if u would like to attempt to save, just save it and then load up the autoback. u should be right where u left off.(aply the texture first, then try to display it. if it crashes then save to the autoback. reopen andl oad the autoback. u should be at the point to where u havethe texture apllied but not displayed. just open the materail editor and hit display. it should not crash on u then, didnt for me.)
