Poor FPS issue with Win2K [message #55110]

I got the Raedon 7000 in the mail yesterday and got it installed. I was excited to fire up Renegade with it. My first time without my VooDoo3. The boot screen was much clearer, and the objects in the game were also very clear, however my FPS still sucked.

Without much action foing on, I was getting 11 to 13 fps. If I were to go on a rush with 5 flamers, I am sure that would drop down to 2 or 3.

Any idea why my VooDoo3 is just as good as my 7000? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
