I upload .7z files all the time, are you sure that's the reason it gave for not accepting it?

Yet you installed the waste of space that is WinRAR instead, despite the fact 7-zip supports many more formats (including .rar), is much more efficient and doesn't have those bloody annoying 'OMFG REGISTAR WINRAR NAO!!!!!' popups all the damn time.
