Exactly.
We need ties with the next government because they are an oil nation. They will be churning the shit out at twice the speed to rebuild the country after they've hung Gadaffi.
We can't stand idly by while the other countries make sure they're in the queue for cheaper oil (especially when prices keep going up and up at the pumps).
Being part of the rescue effort and bombing the fucker in the name of humanity and compassion for the people of Libya will ensure we get right to the front of that queue!
Tibet has been occupied by China since 1950, with the people being treated as second class citizens (being an understatement, as they are sterilised and have force abortions), they're language and culture has been all but wiped out and their land used as a nuclear dumping ground. Right now there are approximately 3,000 religious and political prisoners held captive in Tibet, but that is nothing compared to the 1.2 million Tibetans that have died as a result of the Chineese occupation.
Take on China, and you have no oil? No thanks...
