What is the difference between CS:S and CS:S beta.

I seen it appear in my steam list and could not understand why they would release a beta for a game which has already been out for so many years lol.

Care to enlighten anyone?

It's to test new features before they update the original, right? If I'm not mistaken, they're doing the same thing with TF2.
