Hey. As some of you who know me or have seen my other posts might remember me mentioning how badly I wanted to join the Military or be a Law Enforcement Agent.Well, my dream was cut short because of chronic back problems. Well today I walked into the surgeons for my appointment and for the last few years I have been the things he has handed to me with tons of enthusiam in hope of improving my back in whatever way possible to live my dream. Well today he told me the words that just changed my life. He said that I was cleared and would be able to do what I wanted.

Now onto about the U.S. Army Special Forces. Its been a dream of mine to be part of an elite team like this that can go in it out without being noticed, only to leave the enemy lying on the ground wondering what hit them.Well know that im cleared to join and only have one more year until graduation I have been considering hopefully branching into that part of the service. While I still have some back problems(not enough to stop me) I am extremely fit for my age and prolly are one of the top in my school. So physically im there. Mentally im not. And I know that the special forces are all about mentality. I really dont care about people, you live and you learn and get f****d many times over. My motto is if you don't like me b*ow me. Now you might be wondering why im posting this here.......well ive been told my whole life I was a mistake and was not supposed to be born and that Ill never amount to anything, well now that I can prove them wrong I need your guys help.

Any information on being part of the Special Forces or being a Ranger would be greatly appreciated. Anyone that is actually a member or was would be even more appreciated and I would love to talk to you one on one!

First of all, for what it's worth, I'm sorry to see that you could'nt ask for a little help without getting this shit! I think it's VERY rude when someone takes someone else's thread and turns it into a flamefest, especially when that person has a legitimate request (though I'm not suprised because it seems to happen about every time someone mentions anything about the military). I rememeber you talking about joining and I'm glad to hear that your in good health. Sorry I can't help with special forces info, I spent 4 yrs. in the Marine Corps. as an Infantry Rifleman and it sounds like you're interested in the Army. I know there are some guys here that served in the Army, and maybe once the flames die down they'll give you some info. The best advice I could give you is DON'T EVER let anyone convince you that you're a mistake or that you won't amount to anything (but it sounds like you've got that one covered Wink

) Anyway, I wish you the best in whatever you you decide to do Very Happy

As for this turning into a flame fest I somewhat expected it, but its def. not that bad I actually enjoy this kind of debate mainly because its about history and military, which interests me deeply. So its not a big loss Smile

I actually just found out today that my two grandfathers were both Marines (my mother said they were something else......odd) and so was my late-great grandfather. Now, maybe I should continue this trend? Keep my family blood line proud? Wow decisions, im a bad decision maker.....one reason why special forces might not be good for me. But, whatever it is Ill know ill suceed because I have the will, and we all know whenever theres a will theres a way. Smile
